trans minority stress and mental health

my undergraduate honors thesis research, completed under the supervision of dr. derek iwamoto and funded by a maryland summer scholars grant, examined the mechanisms by which minority stressors impact mental health among trans young adults

i defended my thesis in the fall of my junior year, receiving high honors; my research also won a winston family honors award for outstanding thesis

subsequent research in collaboration with the umd prevention research center examined the associations between specific minority stressors and psychological distress

data from the project have also been used in collaboration with the umd counseling center to examine the experiences of trans students at umd
